Today, Rep. Mike Bost (R-Ill.), the Ranking Member of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, released the following statement after the Committee reported 13 bills to be considered on the House Floor:
“The 13 bills the Committee passed today will help servicemembers, veterans, and military families across the country. I was proud to support most of these proposals, including Republican bills to expand the life insurance for families of fallen servicemembers and help student veterans get a return on investment for their GI bill benefits,” said Ranking Member Bost. “However, I am concerned about the Toxic Exposure Funds’ continued impact on our ability to advance legislation. If we do not find a solution, this barrier will prevent us from continuing our work on behalf of millions of veterans, caregivers, and survivors.” The following bills were passed out of the Committee today: H.R. 3793, the Support Families of the Fallen Act (Rep. Roy) H.R. 5918, to amend title 38, United States Code, to ensure that the Secretary of Veterans Affairs repays members of the Armed Forces for certain contributions made by such members of towards Post-9/11 Educational Assistance (Rep.
