Markup Action: Committee Advances Key Mental Health, Accountability, and Oversight Bills to the Full House as part of GOP Agenda

Today, the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, led by Chairman Mike Bost (R-Ill.), reported out 16 bills to be eligible for consideration by the full House of Representatives. Remarks on each of these bills can be found here.
“From advancing new ideas to expand the reach of VA’s mental health and TBI healthcare services, to bringing needed accountability to VA’s budget management and cemetery services, to expanding education opportunities for servicemembers transitioning to civilian life who want apply their skills and become pilots, our committee reported out 16 vitally important bills ahead of Memorial Day on behalf of the men and women who have served and their families,” said Chairman Bost. “I am especially proud of my bill, the RECOVER Act, which would build on our Committee’s work over the last decade to get veterans who are struggling the right help they need that will give them their lives back. I want to thank the sponsors of each of these bills for their work. These 16 bills represent a significant step forward in addressing the issues that matter for veterans and their families.”
