Today, Rep. Mike Bost (R-Ill.), the Chairman of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, released the following statement in response to President Biden’s State of the Union address to Congress:
“I appreciate President Biden’s discussion of veterans during his State of the Union address this evening. However, any veteran who uses VA care and services knows that there are improvements to be made. Which is why House Republicans will continue to hold the Biden administration to the message they sent to veterans tonight. Veterans should not be fighting a VA bureaucracy for community care referrals, they should not be stuck on the phone on hold trying to get a simple answer, they should have safe and secure housing; they have earned a system that is worthy of their service. As Chairman of the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, I am committed to holding the Biden administration accountable for the billions of dollars we have invested in VA to address these persistent problems.” |
