Today, Rep. Mike Bost (R-Ill.), the Ranking Member of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, released the following statement after the Committee reported 1 bill to be considered on the House Floor:
“I am grateful to Rep. Moore and Rep. Levin for their leadership on H.R. 4772 which was unanimously reported out of our Committee today. Their bipartisan proposal would simplify the reporting process for veterans who participate in the VA clothing allowance program. In return, this will reduce the paperwork burden for thousands of disabled veterans,” said Ranking Member Bost. “However, I am frustrated that Committee Democrats did not report Congressman Gosar’s good faith resolution of inquiry regarding VA wait times data out of Committee. An audit of VA’s wait time practices would only enhance our work to ensure all veterans are getting their appointments in a timely manner. I’m disappointed that our Democratic colleagues did not agree and chose to avoid checks and balances on the Biden Administration.” The following bill was passed out of the Committee today: H.R. 4772, the Mark O’Brien VA Clothing Allowance Improvement Act (Rep. Levin/Rep. Moore) |
