Today, Rep. Mike Bost (R-Ill.), the Ranking Member of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, released the following statement after the Committee reported 18 bills to be considered on the House Floor:
“While I could not support all of the bills that were voted out of Committee this morning, I am proud of the bipartisan bills that we passed today. Together, they will help modernize the VA claims process, improve home and community based services for aging veterans, and support student veterans and military spouses,” said Ranking Member Bost. “One of those bills was my bill, the VA COST SAVINGS ENHANCEMENT Act, which would help make VA medical facilities cleaner while saving taxpayer dollars. Another is the Improving Access to the VA Home Loan Benefit Act, my bill to make VA’s home loan program easier to use for veteran home buyers in today’s economy. I appreciate the work of my colleagues today, and hope to see these bills considered on the House Floor soon.” The following bills were passed out of the Committee today: • H.R. 291, the VA COST SAVINGS Enhancements Act (Rep.
