Today, Rep. Mike Bost (R-Ill.), the Ranking Member of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, released the following statement after he was selected to serve as a conferee on the bicameral House and Senate China legislation conference:
“During the pandemic, VA spent billions of dollars on personal protective equipment and medical supplies to keep the veterans they serve safe. Sadly, too much of that PPE came from the largest geopolitical threat our nation faces: China. This is unacceptable. VA should be caring for veterans with materials that are made by domestic manufacturers who employ hundreds of thousands of Americans and are leading the way in American ingenuity. That’s why I am so honored to be selected by Leader McCarthy to serve as the Republican voice for the VA Committee on the China legislation conference. We owe our veterans a VA that embodies the values they fought to defend around the world. I will fight to make sure that happens,” said Ranking Member Bost. |
