Today, Rep. Mike Bost (R-Ill.), the Ranking Member of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, released the following statement after the White House announced the President’s nominees for VA Undersecretary for Health and Undersecretary for Benefits, as well as for the Asset and Infrastructure Review (AIR) Commission, to consider changes to VA's health care infrastructure nationwide:
“I am glad that, after months of delay, the President has at long last announced his nominees for Under Secretary for Health, Dr. Shereef Elnahal, Under Secretary for Benefits, Ray Jefferson, and the AIR Commission. These critical positions will set the tone for how veterans receive the care and benefits they have earned for decades to come. I look forward to learning more about the nominees and to working closely with them, should they be confirmed,” said Ranking Member Bost. “I am also glad to see that Christine Hill has been nominated to serve on the AIR Commission. Christine would bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Commission as someone who has spent her life in service - first in the Air Force, then as a veteran advocate, and most recently as a senior staffer on the VA Committee. I am confident that she would continue to put her fellow veterans first in this new role, just as she always has before. She has my full support.” |
