Today, Rep. Phil Roe, M.D. (R-Tenn.), the Ranking Member of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, released the following statement after the House passed six bipartisan bills to improve care, benefits, and services for our nation’s veterans:
“Today, the House passed six bipartisan bills to better support the men and women who have served. These bills would ensure that veterans with prostate cancer receive world class care from VA, that disability benefit questionnaires are available on VA’s website to veterans and their private medical providers, that more VA healthcare professionals can practice telemedicine, that Native American veterans are exempted from copayments, that taxpayer dollars are protected by tighter fiscal controls throughout VA, and that the brave service of all veterans, men and women alike, is rightfully honored by VA’s mission statement. I applaud Chairman Takano and my colleagues on both sides of the aisle for their efforts on each of these bills and I look forward to continuing our work tomorrow when we will consider crucial veteran suicide prevention legislation, assistance for homeless veterans, and more.”
The following bills were passed out of the House today:
H.R. 6092: The Veteran's Prostate Cancer Treatment and Research Act
H.R. 7795: The Veterans Benefits Fairness and Transparency Act of 2020
H.R. 3228: The VA Mission Telehealth Clarification Act
H.R. 3010: The Honoring All Veterans Act
H.R. 4908: The Native American PACT Act
