Washington, D.C. - Today, House Veterans’ Affairs Ranking Member Phil Roe, M.D. (R-Tenn.) released the following statement after the House Republican Steering Committee recommended 5 new Republican members chosen to serve on the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs. Conference intends to ratify this in the coming days.
“I am excited to welcome this outstanding group of lawmakers to the Committee. We have a great selection of members with unique backgrounds and experience. Over half of whom are veterans themselves. I am confident they will work hard to continue to improve services for veterans and build on the monumental progress we made during the previous Congress. I look forward to working with all of these members as we strive to increase veterans' access to quality health care, monitor the implementation of many of the laws that were passed last Congress, ensure that veterans and their families are receiving the best services and support possible, and of course, honor the brave men and women the Committee is charged to serve."
