Today, House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs Chairman Mike Bost (R-Ill.), released the following statement after Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Secretary Doug Collins announced that in response to President Trump’s recent executive order, “Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government,” VA will phase out medical treatments for gender dysphoria.
“I applaud Secretary Collins decision today to refocus VA’s efforts away from cross-sex hormone therapy through VA health care and towards providing health care and services to our disabled and paralyzed veteran community,” said Chairman Bost. “We must reverse the disastrous policies of the Biden-Harris administration and put veterans back at the center of VA’s mission. We meet that mission by putting our resources towards those who need VA care most in the veteran community. I fully support this decision.” |
