Today, Rep. Mike Bost (R-Ill.), the Ranking Member of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, released the following statement after the House passed two bills to bolster services at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
“The two bills that the House passed today will help VA better-serve veterans and non-veterans alike,” said Ranking Member Bost. “S. 957, the DUMP Act, will impact every community in America by allowing anyone, regardless of whether they are a veteran, to dispose of unused prescription medications at VA facilities. By getting opioids off the streets, this bill will help the growing opioid crisis that has only gotten worse over the last year. S. 1910, the Major Medical Facility Authorization Act, will benefit thousands of veterans across the country by authorizing VA major medical facility projects in four states. I look forward to seeing the President sign both of these right-minded proposals into law soon.” The following bills were passed out of the House today: S.957: DUMP Opioids Act (Introduced in the Senate by Sen. Kennedy, and in the House by Rep. Miller-Meeks) S. 1910: FY 2021 Major Medical Facility Authorization Act (Introduced in the Senate by Sen. Tester and Sen. Moran) |
