Today, Rep. Mike Bost (R-Ill.), the Ranking Member of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, released the following statement after the Committee’s hearing to assess the Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA’s) fiscal year 2022 budget request:
“I will always act to make sure that veterans have what they need. But veterans are taxpayers too. They deserve to know that the massive funding increases VA is requesting are necessary, not wasteful,” said Ranking Member Bost. “This budget also continues to ignore the elephant in the room - toxic exposure. Toxic-exposed veterans are suffering. We must find a fiscally responsible way to help them. It is past time for the Biden Administration to come to the table and help us do that.” To watch Ranking Member Bost’s opening remarks during today’s hearing, click here.
