Today, Rep. Mike Bost (R-Ill.), the Ranking Member of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, released the following statement after the House passed H.R. 1448, as amended, the Puppies Assisting Wounded Servicemembers (PAWS) for Veterans Therapy Act, and H.R. 958, the Protecting Moms Who Served Act:
“Both of the bills we passed today put veterans first,” said Ranking Member Bost. “The PAWS Act was introduced by my friend and fellow veteran, Congressman Stivers, and is cosponsored by more than 70% of the House. It will help connect veterans with PTSD with service dogs and establish an innovative service dog training pilot program to help them heal. The Protecting Moms Who Served Act will improve care for veteran mothers before, during, and after their pregnancy. I am proud to support both of these bills and I hope the Senate will consider them swiftly.” The following bills were passed out of the House today: H.R. 1448: The Puppies Assisting Wounded Servicemembers (PAWS) Act (Stivers) H.R. 958: The Protecting Moms Who Served Act (Underwood) |
