Today, Rep. Phil Roe, M.D. (R-Tenn.), the Ranking Member of the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, released the following statement to kick off Public Service Recognition Week by thanking all the VA employees who remain committed to caring for our nation’s veterans:
“More than ever before, it is imperative that we recognize and thank those who have dedicated their lives to public service,” said Ranking Member Roe. “Every day, hundreds of thousands of hardworking men and women commit to caring for our nation’s heroes at VA - even now, when doing so comes at personal risk. Their names may not be found in history books, but their exceptional service does not go unnoticed. Because of their work, VA announced last week that veteran trust in VA healthcare services has reached its highest level ever during this pandemic. During Public Service Recognition Week, I want to issue a personal thank you to each and every VA employee for that achievement and for the remarkable service they proudly provide to millions of veterans in every corner of the United States.”
