Ranking Member Roe Statement on President Trump’s State of the Union Address

Tonight, Rep. Phil Roe, M.D. (R-Tenn.), the Ranking Member of the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, released the following statement after President Donald J. Trump’s State of the Union Address:

"I was encouraged by President Trump’s State of the Union address this evening and each of my fellow veterans should be as well. Simply put, this President has kept his promises to those who keep our country strong. It is because of his leadership, pro-growth policies, and commitment to empowering the men and women who have served our great nation that the veteran unemployment rate has fallen to a record low in recent history, that veteran patients have more choices in where to get care than ever before, that veterans are getting their appeals for disability compensation decided in a more timely manner, and that we continue to see a revitalized, refocused, and accountable VA,” said Roe. “There is no question that there is more work ahead, but I remain confident that under President Trump’s direction, we will keep delivering on the promises we have made to our heroic veterans and their families."
