Washington, D.C. – Today, Rep. Phil Roe, M.D. (R-Tenn.), Chairman of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, released the following statement following the confirmation of committee staffer Dr. Tamara Bonzanto to be Assistant Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)’s Office of Accountability and Whistleblower Protection: “I’m proud to see the strong support for this important confirmation. Tammy, who currently serves as a health care investigator on the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, has always been an advocate for veterans and whistleblowers and an important part of my team. She has shown a steadfast commitment to our veterans through her relentless investigative work for the past 3 years. While we will miss her greatly, I know that she is the right choice for this leadership role at VA.” |
