BACKGROUND: During this oversight hearing, the committee will discuss strategies to improve the Department of Veterans Affairs’ care in the community programs to facilitate access to timely, quality care for veterans in North Carolina, both inside the VA health care system and in the community. The committee will also assess actions that may be needed to strengthen VA’s community partnerships, create successful working relationships with community providers and streamline prompt payment and access to information.
