Today, Chairman Phil Roe, M.D. (R-Tenn.) released the hearing schedule for September 18 – 22. The following event is open to the press: WHO: Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations WHAT: An Assessment of Leadership Failures at the Manchester, NH VA Medical Center WHEN: 10:30 a.m. ET, Monday, September 18, 2017 WHERE: New Hampshire National Guard Edward Cross Training Complex, 722 Riverwood Drive, Pembroke, New Hampshire 03275 BACKGROUND: This oversight field hearing will explore deficiencies at the Manchester, New Hampshire VA Medical Center. In a July 2017 Boston Globe Spotlight report, twelve whistleblowers revealed serious quality of care issues at the Manchester VA Medical Center. In subsequent oversight of the facility, the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations has uncovered further shortcomings regarding delays in care, infrastructure, VISN leadership and suicide prevention. Please note: The hearing is open to the public, but for security purposes, no bags or privately owned weapons will be allowed. The entrance gate for the public is located at 772 Riverwood Drive.
