Veterans’ Affairs Committee Passes #ForeverGIBill, 10 Other Bills

Today, Chairman Phil Roe, M.D. (R-Tenn.) released the following statement after the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs passed 11 bills out of committee, including the Harry W. Colmery Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2017:

“Today, our committee continued its bipartisan work by favorably sending 11 bills to the full House for consideration. These bills will improve VA’s ability to hire and retain quality medical professionals, address issues with VA’s procurement process and expand veterans’ access to mental health care. I’m particularly proud of the unanimous support for the legislation I partnered with Ranking Member Walz on to improve and extend the GI Bill for generations to come, and I thank Leader McCarthy for his commitment to bring the bill up for a vote this month. I look forward to seeing all of these bills move through the legislative process.”
