Press Release

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) awarded its House Staffer of the Year Award to House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs Subcommittee on Economic Opportunity Staff Director Mike Brinck. VVA recognized Brinck, along with two other Capitol Hill staff members for their “untiring efforts on behalf of America’s veterans and their families.”

“As a Vietnam veteran, I am deeply grateful for the honor given to me by the Vietnam Veterans of America,” said Brinck.  “While my name is on the award, it really recognizes the great work done by dozens of staff members who work every day to improve the lives of the one percent who defend the 99 percent.”

“Mike is an obvious choice to receive this award,” said Chairman Jeff Miller (FL-01). “His experience as a Navy pilot in Vietnam and a veterans service organization leader coupled with his encyclopedic knowledge of veterans issues have made him a tremendous asset to our committee. Veterans of all eras have no better advocate than Mike, and I’m thrilled his achievements are being recognized by the community he so profoundly impacts.”
