Joint Hearing of the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs of the U.S. Senate and the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs of the U.S. House of Representatives at 1:00 p.m. CDT.
Opening Statement of Hon. Bob Turner, Republican Member, Committee on Veterans' Affairs
I join the Chairman, Ranking Member, and my other colleagues in welcoming our guests and thanking them for taking the time to appear before this committee.
I would like to take a moment to recognize our veteran heroes for their service to this Nation. The sacrifices of fellow Americans paid to preserve our freedom should never be forgotten.
Like the rest of my colleagues on the committee, I anticipate hearing from these distinguished panelists to understand how we can better serve our disabled heroes. I look forward to hearing the legislative priorities of 2012 for the Disabled American Veterans. Once again, I would like to thank our distinguished guests for their service and I yield my time back.
