Tom Barrett (R-Mich.), and House Committee on Financial Services Chairman French Hill (R-Ark.), released the following statements after the House passed two major veterans’ bills leading into Memorial Day. Over 150 Democrats voted against both bills. The Sharri Briley and Eric Edmundson Veterans Benefits Expansion Act would increase the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) monthly compensation benefit for service-connected, catastrophically disabled veterans and the surviving families of 100% disabled or deceased veterans.
